Mayor Hovland and Mayor Winstead Are The Guest Speakers For The April 26th Full Committee Dinner
Mayor Jim Hovland (Edina) and Mayor Gene Winstead (Bloomington) will be the our guest speakers at the next Full Committee Meeting dinner on April 26th, at Calvary Lutheran Church located at 6817 Antrim Road in Edina. The meeting will be in the format of a Town Hall discussion.
Mayor Hovland was elected to his first term as Mayor of Edina in November 2004. He has been a member of the Edina City Council for past 8 years. In addition to his work on the City Council, Mayor Hovland currently Chairs both the I-494 Corridor Commission and the MNPASS System Study Steering Committee and is a member of the Transportation Advisory Board of Metropolitan Council. He is also President of the Edina Community Foundation and a member of the Edina Morningside Rotary, Edina Chamber of Commerce and Edina Ducks Unlimited. Currently Mr. Hovland is an Attorney at Law at the firm Krause & Rollins in Minneapolis.
Mayor Winstead has been a resident of Bloomington for 30 years and was elected to his first term as Mayor of Bloomington in November 1999, and was re-elected in November 2003. He has been a member of the Bloomington City Council since his appointment in 1995. In addition to his work on the City Council, Mayor Winstead is currently a board member for Bloomington United for Youth (BUY) and the Bloomington Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chair of the Municipal Legislative Committee, and currently representing the Hennepin County suburbs on the Criminal Justice Coordinating Committee. In August 2004, after 34 years, he retired as Vice President of Operations at Lieberman Companies in Bloomington.

The evening social hour and dinner starts at 6 PM with a $7 donation for adults, $4 for students. No charge for College Republicans. Mayor Hovland and Mayor Winstead will be introduced at 7:30 PM.
