Neil Peterson and Sen. Geoff Michel at a recent soccer outing for families

Elected officials from both Edina and Bloomington are joining hands with our elected representatives in St. Paul to discuss and find solutions to problems at the local level. Senator Geoff Michel met recently with Neil Peterson, Republican endorsed candidate for the House District 41B seat, to discuss issues that are a concern to all families in the Senate District. Transportation, taxes, education, and jobs are at the top of the list for voters this year. In anticipation of winning this fall, Neil Peterson is meeting with many of our community leaders to gather many points of view on these issues.
Conversely, Neil has met and discussed transportation issues with Bloomington Mayor Gene Winstead. Relieving congestion in the 494/169 corridor is high on everyone’s list. Also, Bloomington, in cooperation with the State Department of Transportation, has begun construction of a new bridge over 35W to complete the American Boulevard project, further relieving pressure from 494. Having representation in St. Paul that can work closely with local government is paramount to getting solutions that work for everyone.

Neil Peterson and Mayor Gene Winstead discuss the significant construction and congestion taking place on 494 and 169 that have shared impacts and concerns, for both Bloomington and Edina.

Both Neil Peterson and Rep. Ron Erhardt from 41A, met with teachers and parents recently to discuss education issues. No Child Left Behind and how to improve our schools, as well as funding, are high on the priority list.
