Deborah Strebel Pierce to Speak at October Full Committee Meeting
Special Agent in Charge Deborah Strebel Pierce will be the October guest speaker at the Full Committee Meeting dinner, October 26th, at the Calvary Lutheran Church located at 6817 Antrium Road in Edina. Mrs. Strebel Pierce is a native of Buffalo, New York, where she received her early education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, in 1974. For the next five years, she taught and coached in the Berea school system and at Cuyohoga Community College in the Cleveland area. In 1983, she earned her Masters Degree in Sport Psychology from Cleveland State University. Mrs. Pierce is married to Donald F. Pierce, who retired as an FBI Agent.
Mrs. Pierce was designated a Special Agent with the FBI in September, 1979, and following a period of training, was assigned to the Cleveland Division, where she investigated a variety of criminal violations and participated in numerous undercover operations. In 1986, Mrs. Pierce was transferred to Washington, D.C., where she was the co-case Agent of "Operation Ill-Wind," a Pentagon procurement fraud investigation. In 1988, Mrs. Pierce was promoted to FBI Headquarters to assume a supervisory position in the Undercover Unit.
In October 1991, Mrs. Pierce was named Supervisor of a newly-created Public Corruption and Government Fraud squad in the Sacramento Division, as well as covering the territory north of Sacramento to the Oregon border. She also created and supervised the Surveillance Operations Group.
In July 1996, Mrs. Pierce was selected to serve as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Milwaukee Division, covering the entire State of Wisconsin. Mrs. Pierce served as Acting Special Agent in Charge for two extended periods during her tenure in Milwaukee. In July 1999, Mrs. Pierce was transferred to Washington, D.C., as an Inspector.
Mrs. Pierce was designated Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis Division on October 19, 2001. She is a 2003 graduate of the National Executive Institute (NEI). In September 2004, Mrs. Pierce received a promotion to Deputy Assistant Director, Criminal Investigative Division, Washington, D.C.
She will be speaking on the work of the local Bureau in Minnesota and homeland security in this new world of the 21st century.
