Rep. Neil Peterson One of Best Legislators
in Freshman Class
Politics in Minnesota, the influential newsletter focusing on public affairs in Minnesota, has released its May 31st edition at the close of the legislative session. As is its usual practice, the news service has named its Legislator of the Year and its Freshman Legislator of the Year. This year, they have highlighted the entire freshman class. In doing so, the newsletter states, “House freshmen in both parties seem to have a refreshing willingness to work with members of the other party.”
Despite the broad stroke aimed at the entire frosh class, PIM chose to give special recognition to eight freshman legislators, one of which is our own Rep. Neil Peterson (R-41B). Neil is a rather special freshman with vast experience compared to his fellow frosh members, having served several terms on the Bloomington City Council, Bloomington Mayor, and a stint on the Metropolitan Council.
