Tony Sutton to Speak at Jan. 22 Dinner
Tony Sutton, Secretary/Treasurer of the Republican Party of Minnesota since 2005, will be the guest speaker at the next Senate District 41 Republican Dinner Meeting on January 22 at Calvary Lutheran Church located at 6817 Antrim Road in Edina.
Tony has been a longtime activist in the Republican Party of Minnesota. His involvement dates back to 1984 dropping literature in Hibbing on Minnesota’s Iron Range for Rudy Boschwitz and Ronald Reagan. Sutton later served in various leadership capacities at the local, congressional district and state levels. In addition to volunteer activities Sutton has also served the state GOP in many professional roles including Field Director (1988-1989), Finance Director (1990-1992), Executive Director (1992-1993 and 1997-2001) and General Consultant (2002).
Tony has worked on many presidential campaigns serving as State Director for the Bush/Quayle campaign (1992) and State Director for the Phil Gramm campaign (1995-1996). He is currently one of the Minnesota Statewide Steering Committee Co-Chairs for the Mitt Romney presidential campaign.
In addition to political activities Sutton worked as Deputy State Auditor for the State of Minnesota after the election of State Auditor Pat Anderson in 2002. Since 2006 he has been the CEO of Baja Sol Restaurants Group, which operates a chain of Mexican restaurants. He is married to Bridget and they have three children – Olivia, Maggie and Keiran.
The evening social hour will start at 6 PM with an $8 dinner donation for adults and $4 for students. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM. District announcement will be made at 7 PM and Tony will be introduced about 7:30 PM.
