Transportation Gridlock: Let’s Get Moving!
Nov 27 Full Committee Dinner Meeting
Minnesota Transportation Alliance and Amy Vennewitz, staff with the Metropolitan Council at the next Senate District 41 Republican Dinner Meeting on November 27 at Calvary Lutheran Church, located at 6817 Antrim Road in Edina. This will be an overview of what’s happening with our transportation system, including local projects, and the options for funding being discussed by the Legislature and the Governor.
The state’s transportation infrastructure forms the backbone of our economy, allowing the movement of people and goods all across the state. While often taken for granted, the recent collapse of the I-35W Bridge has focused the attention of many Minnesotans on the status of our roads and bridges and whether or not the system is adequately funded and maintained. Efforts at the Legislature to increase funding for transportation have often stalled over disagreements about funding sources and distribution of the revenue.
This presentation will give you an opportunity to learn more about why highway and transit funding matters to you and how we can improve the safety and effectiveness of our transportation system and, in turn, enhance our state’s economic growth.
The evening social hour will start at 6 PM with an $8 dinner donation for adults and $4 for students. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM. District announcements will be made at 7 PM and Transportation Gridlock at 7:30 PM.
Please call the SD41 Republican office at 952.848.4272 or email sd41gop@hotmail.com to place your dinner reservation by Saturday, November 24.
