Triple Header Slated for January 23rd
Dinner Meeting
A very special Full Committee Meeting will be held January 23rd at the Calvary Lutheran Church, located at 6817 Antrim Road in Edina. Dr. Ric Dressen, Superintendent of Edina Public Schools and Mr. Les Fujitake Superintendent of Bloomington Public Schools will be our guest speakers. However, a surprise special guest will be Gov. Tim Pawlenty, fresh from his re-election in November and his State of the State address on January 17th.
Be on hand to welcome the Governor at 7:15 p.m. and to hear his insights and challenges for his second term. The regular program will follow the Governor’s remarks.
Dr. Dressen became superintendent of Edina Public Schools on July 1, 2006, succeeding Kenneth A. Dragseth, Ph. D. upon his retirement who has held the position for 14 years. Dr. Dressen is currently chair of the Minnesota Association of School Administrators. In 2003-04 he chaired the Minnesota Education Finance Reform Task Force at the request of the Governor. Dr Dressen is a graduate of Bemidji State University, with MS and specialist degrees from St. Cloud State University, and an Ed. D. from the University of Minnesota
Mr. Les Fujitake became Superintendent of Bloomington Public Schools on July 1, 2006, succeeding Superintendent Gary Prest upon his retirement. Prior to this, he had been the Executive Director of Finance and Support Services for the Bloomington school district for 11 years. Mr. Fujitake, 54, earned his MBA in Management from Chaminade University, and a BBA in Business from the University of Hawaii. He holds a certificate of a C.P.A.
The evening social hour and dinner begins at 6 PM with a $8 dinner donation for adults and $4 for students. District announcements will be made at 7 PM, the Governor at 7:15 PM, with Dr. Ric Dressen and Mr.Les Fujitake introduced at 7:30 PM. As usual your questions and ideas are welcome.
