U. of M. Alumni Praise SD41 Legislators
Margaret Carlson and Dennis Schulstad, Edina residents and members of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association praised all three legislators in SD41 in a recent letter to the editor of the Sun Current newspaper. In part, they said, “Hats off to Sen. Geoff Michel, R-Edina, whose legislative leadership ensured the return of Golden Gopher football to campus in 2009.” Sen. Michel authored the bill.
In addition, the pair singled out our representatives. “Along with Michel, we salute Rep. Ron Erhardt, R-Edina, and Rep. Neil W. Peterson, R-Bloomington, for their courageous and visionary support of the university's academic and research mission.” Both supported the bonding bill which gave the University additional funding for buildings and expansion. Rep. Neil Peterson sits on the House committee that assembles the bonding bill every two years.
