Wilken & Seaton To Speak At March 28th Full Committee Dinner Forum
Attorneys Greg Wilken and Senate District 41's Doug Seaton will be the guest speakers at the next Senate District 41 Republican Dinner Forum on March 28th at Calvary Lutheran Church, located at 6817 Antrim Road in Edina. As guest speakers Greg Wilken, a member of Northwest Airlines' Labor Counsel Office, and Doug Seaton, an experienced labor lawyer for management, will discuss the status of Northwest Airlines' labor negotiations with its pilots, flight attendants, mechanics and baggage handlers. Further discussions include the prospects for resolution of the disputes with these bargaining units, unilateral action by Northwest, strikes, replacement employees, and/or bankruptcy court action on the outstanding agreements.
We have all followed the course of these negotiations and the playing out of the parties' positions and strategies in the press, but this discussion will provide the additional perspective of a Northwest Airlines labor lawyer who is in the thick of those developments, and another experienced labor lawyer who has also handled contentious bargaining relationships, concessionary bargaining, impasses, final offer implementation and strike management for other employers.
Prior to Northwest, Mr. Wilken was an attorney with the labor and employment law firm Seaton, Beck and Peters. He was an aide to then-Senator Dan Quayle and appointee at the Departments of Labor and Education under President George H.W. Bush.
Mr. Seaton is a founding shareholder of Seaton, Beck & Peters, P.A. He was designated one of Minnesota's “Leading American Attorneys” and “Super Lawyer” by Law and Politics magazine.
The evening social hour and dinner begins at 6 PM with a $7 dinner donation for adults and $4 for students. District announcements will be made at 7 PM with Mr. Wilken and Mr. Seaton introduced at 7:30 PM. As usual your questions and ideas are welcome.
Please call the SD-41 Republican office at 952/848-4272 or email sd41gop@hotmail.com to place your dinner reservation by Saturday, March 25th. For more district news and information visit www.sd41gop.org.
